Never Sleep at Night Now Available from Ochre Records UK
"Recorded over the last year, [Never Sleep at Night] indeed shows a more uptempo Mellow Drunk. Maymi's guitar arrangements supply the songs with sinew and muscle, especially on the feedback freakout of "A Different Color on My Door," and Cavorretto's organ fills and trumpet add depth throughout. "Never Sleep at Night," a fuzzy rocker with an irresistible keyboard riff, sounds like it could be a radio hit, if current radio formats weren't so unadventurous." - Dan Strachota, SF Weekly

Mellow Drunk would like to thank everyone who came early to the Supergrass concert at The Fillmore to see us perform! You helped make it the biggest and most memorable show of our career up to this point. Hope you had as much fun watching and listening to us as we did playing for you!!!

For those of you who could not make it, here is what happened: The show was sold out! We played to 800+ people. They cheered for us loudly as we took the stage and we held their attention for the duration of our very upbeat set - half of which contained songs from the follow up to our new CD Never Sleep at Night.

The set list:
Never Sleep At Night
The Top
Come Alive
Ancient History
A Different Color On My Door
Shone On Everyone
Cut Me To Pieces
Question Reality

The band is currently finishing up mixing three new songs that will be featured in the documentary film Haight Ashbury Then and Now. Tentatively the band will be in the studio in August working on more new songs for their next release.

In related news Mellow Drunk guitarist Rick Maymi was recently spotted sitting in with New Zealand's legendary the Clean during the second night of their excellent three night stand at the Fillmore with Yo La Tango.

Check out the new video of Mellow Drunk performing "The Top" from their December show with Luna at the Fillmore.
